The Madeline Dress: Goths in Hot Weather!

The Madeline Dress: Goths in Hot Weather!

Posted by Brynna Ashley on Jul 31st 2015

Yes. It's summer. But that doesn't mean that you have to sacrifice style OR wearing black! Steady's Madeline dress is perfect for the classy lady-in-black who loves dainty dresses but doesn't want to sacrifice comfort.

The Madeline dress was inspired by the ever-so-versatile Miss Fancy Top, which I modeled and reviewed in this blog. The polka dotted lace sweetheart top adds an elegant touch to the just-above-the-knee length flared dress. The polyester, rayon, spandex blend that makes up the body of the dress is very comfortable and breathable for hot, humid days! It is available in black or white.

You can literally wear this dress anywhere-whether you are running errands to a nice dinner date or a cute tea party! It's so comfy that you could even wear it to class. In these pics, I wore this dress on a day trip to Princeton with my handsome boyfriend and amazing photographer, James David.

I accessorized with some little lace gloves, I can't remember where I found them but I'm sure you can find a similar pair at a costume shoppe or vintage store. I also wore one of my favorite vintage hats with a veil that I found at L Train Vintage in Brooklyn. My shoes are an older pair of Steve Maddens, but you can wear any shoes with this dress. And my favorite accessory is my To Die For coffin shaped purse by Tatyana.

This humidity is horrible for pinup hairstyles so I just tied my hair back in a bun and clipped in some Betty bangs by Classy Rebel. I bought a pair or platinum bangs and custom colored them silver myself.

I used MAC's Rebel lipstick with Burgundy liner to make my lips extra plump. To give my eyes a pop of color, I dabbed the extra Rebel lipstick on my lip brush under my eyes.

I'm off for more adventures. Keep up with me by following my adventures on Instagram! And enjoy a couple tunes inspired by the Madeline dress below.
